Call Rates

The rate card is the per-minute price list for outbound calls under the account's package: one price per destination network, by country. The group has two read-only endpoints, the countries the card covers and the rates of one of them, which together make the portal's Billing → Call Rates page. Messaging prices are a separate list, described in Conversations.

Workflow (what the portal does)

  1. Countries: GET /v2/account/call-rates-countries answers a bare array of {"country_code": "IE", "name": "Ireland"}: the countries with at least one rate in the account's card, in alphabetical order of name, with XS "International Satellite" last when the card prices satellite numbers. The portal fills its country picker from it.
  2. Rates of a country: GET /v2/account/call-rates?country_code=IE answers {"currency": "EUR", "data": [{"network": "IRELAND EIR MOBILE", "number_type": 1, "rate": 0.04215}, …]}: one row per network, number type and rate, sorted by network. rate is the price per minute before VAT in currency, the account's billing currency, with up to five decimals. number_type is 0 fixed line, 1 mobile, 3 toll-free, 4 premium or 99 undefined, for a range that mixes landlines and mobiles (the US and Canada) or that NUACOM has not classified.

country_code is required: two letters in either case, one of the countries of GET /v3/country-list or XS; anything else answers 422.

Roles and access

  • Any authenticated user of the account; no admin check.

Pitfalls

  • The two answers have different shapes: the countries are a bare array, the rates an object with data and currency.
  • An account without a package has no rate card: both endpoints answer 200 with an empty list, as does a country with no rates. Neither is a 404.
  • Rates are before VAT and come with up to five decimals; the portal rounds them to three.
  • A destination can appear more than once: a network priced differently for two number types, or at two rates, is two rows.
  • Networks whose name says "mobile" but whose numbers are classified as fixed, toll-free or premium are left out rather than shown under a misleading name.
